Backup POLICY
Backup Policy - HostingMaster.in
At HostingMaster.in, we aim to provide basic data protection facilities for our clients. However, it is important to understand that backups are provided as a courtesy service and not a guaranteed feature. By using our services, you agree to the terms below regarding backup creation, storage, and restoration.
1. Backup Frequency
- HostingMaster.in maintains a single weekly backup, meaning only one backup is retained at any given time.
- Each new backup automatically overwrites the previous one.
- Backups are stored for a maximum of 7 days only from the date of creation.
2. Backup Restoration
- If you need to restore a backup, you must raise a support ticket through your Client Area.
- Restoration will be performed only from the available 7-day backup.
- We cannot restore or provide data that is older than the latest available backup.
- HostingMaster.in does not guarantee that every backup will be error-free or restorable.
3. Third-Party Backup Infrastructure
- Backups are managed using third-party systems/services integrated with our hosting platform.
- If any hardware failure, disk issue, or third-party outage occurs, HostingMaster.in will not be responsible for data loss or incomplete backups.
- In such situations, we will attempt to restore data from the most recent available backup, if possible.
4. Client Responsibility (Highly Recommended)
- We strongly recommend that all clients maintain their own local or cloud backups of websites, databases, and emails.
- Situations where maintaining your own backups is crucial:
- Before making major website or server updates.
- Before long periods of inactivity or maintenance.
- On a regular schedule, depending on how frequently your website content changes.
- Your business data is important, and while we will always assist to the best of our ability, the ultimate responsibility for maintaining a backup lies with the client.
5. Limitations & Liability Disclaimer
- HostingMaster.in shall not be held liable for:
- Any partial or total data loss.
- Missing or failed backups for specific days.
- Corrupted or damaged backup files.
- Any hardware, software, or third-party failure affecting backup creation or restoration.
- Any difference between live data and restored backup content.
By using HostingMaster.in services, you acknowledge and accept that our backup system is a best-effort service, and you are solely responsible for maintaining additional backups of your data.
